Sometimes, when it has been very cold out for many days, and the depth of the ice has been tested, New Pond in Hemlock Gorge freezes hard enough to ice skate on. When this happens, we send a message out to the community and everyone gathers to skate, gather around a fire, listen to music, and play hockey.
